Accessibility Statement

Stichting Support a Bit wants its website to be accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability or assistive technology used. This statement describes the aim, the current status and how you can report problems.

Aim

The foundation aims for this website to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, level AA. This international guideline describes how websites can be made accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor or cognitive disabilities.

Status

At present, the accessibility of the website has been assessed on the basis of an internal self-evaluation. No external audit has yet been carried out. An independent review is foreseen once the foundation's work and budget allow.

Measures taken

To bring accessibility to a good level, the following measures, among others, have been taken:

• Use of semantic HTML elements for structure, headings and navigation.
• A contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 for body text and 3 to 1 for large text and interface elements.
• Visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation.
• A skip link that lets users jump directly to the main content.
• Respect for the operating system setting prefers-reduced-motion; moving elements are then reduced or stopped.
• ARIA labels and alternative text on images and interactive elements where this improves accessibility.
• Fonts are served locally, so that pages load quickly even on limited connections.

Known limitations

At the time of publication of this statement, no accessibility limitations are known. Should a deviation from WCAG 2.2 level AA be identified in the future that cannot be remedied immediately, it will be listed here, together with an explanation and an expected date of remediation.
