Terms & Conditions

General terms and conditions for donations, volunteer work and participation in activities of Stichting Support a Bit.

These general terms and conditions apply to the work of Stichting Support a Bit, in particular to donations, volunteer work and participation in activities and events.

Applicability

These terms apply to every agreement between the foundation and a donor, volunteer or participant, except where deviated from in writing. By making a donation, entering into a volunteer agreement or registering for an activity, the person concerned confirms that they are familiar with and accept these terms.

Donations

  • Donations may be made as a one-time gift or as a recurring monthly payment, via Stripe.
  • Monthly donations may be cancelled at any time, with immediate effect for the next due date.
  • Refund of a donation is possible within 14 days of payment if the payment was clearly unintended, concerns a double charge, or involves an evidently incorrect amount. Requests can be sent to contact@supportabit.nl.
  • Donations are — once ANBI status has been granted — deductible from Dutch income tax under conditions; the foundation provides a payment confirmation upon request.

Volunteer work

  • No employment relationship arises between the foundation and a volunteer. Work is performed voluntarily and without remuneration.
  • Actually incurred expenses are reimbursed to volunteers against documented proof, in accordance with a framework agreed in advance.
  • Volunteers comply with the Code of Conduct and any additional arrangements applicable to the programme in which they take part.
  • The volunteer engagement may be ended by either party at any time, in writing and with reasonable notice.
  • Volunteers are insured through the municipal volunteer insurance scheme, where it applies to the activity concerned.

Events and activities

  • Participation in activities and events is at the participant's own responsibility. Participants are themselves responsible for appropriate clothing, medication or other personal requirements.
  • During public activities, visual material may be recorded. Participants are informed of this in advance and can indicate that they do not wish to be included. Recognisable publication requires separate consent.
  • Instructions from supervisors must be followed, in the interest of the safety of all participants.

Liability

The liability of the foundation for damage in connection with its activities is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of the foundation or of persons for whom it is legally responsible. Liability for indirect damage, consequential damage or lost income is excluded.

Personal data

The processing of personal data in the context of these terms is governed by the Privacy Policy.

Governing law and disputes

All agreements to which these terms apply are governed exclusively by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent court of the Rechtbank Rotterdam, without prejudice to the statutory jurisdiction of any other court where the law so requires.

Changes

The foundation may amend these terms. The most recent version is always published on this page, with the date of the most recent change.
